When laser cutting stencils i use a backer board and a dash of repositionable spray adhesive. The stencils are just a piece of thin plastic with a bunch of holes cut in it. Mylar can be cleaned with most solvents and it can be reused many times for a stencil that will last for years. Our stencils are made from 3 mil or 4 mil mylar with a low power co2 laser.
